IEEE CIS “Grand Student Competition” at IEEE CIBCB 2025
Some days ago I attended IEEE BBTC’s flagship event: the IEEE CIBCB conference. Co-organized by Pau-Choo “Julia” Chung and Jennifer Hallinan, and held at the National Cheng Kung University in Tainan, Taiwan. Among the other things, I had the interesting experience of being part of the jury of the “2025 IEEE CIS student grand competition on Computational Intelligence in Biomedicine and Healthcare”. Twelve teams presented their CI solutions for core issues in smart medicine, smart healthcare and smart hospital including, but not limited to, personalized, predictive, preventive and participatory medicine and healthcare solutions.
The winner was “Innovative Topological Convolution Neural Networks for the Closed-Loop Control of the BCI Exoskeleton in Neural Rehabilitation”. You can find the other finalists and the honorable mentions on the website.
